Experienced riders understand cycling is as much about technique as it is fitness.
Riding in a bunch, climbing and descending hills and overall bike handling are skills well worth learning. However, one of the biggest contributors to simply enjoying an everyday ride is the power you’re able to get out of each pedal stroke. A correct technique also helps prevent muscle and joint injury and reduces wear on bike componentry.
A 42-minute SpinScan can provide the on-screen pedal stroke analysis you need to get the most out of each turn of the pedal.
How Spinscan works.
SpinScan provides a 360-degree visualisation of your pedaling technique.
Once you’re set up (BYO bike or use a Vbike Powerwatts bike) and pedalling, you’ll see an on-screen image of each rotation. This allows you to make adjustments and learn how to cycle more efficiently.
The screen also shows:
- Your watts (power)
- Your cadence (revolutions per minutes)
- The percentage effort between your left and right legs (50/50 is best)
- The Average Torque Angle (ATA) (the average point where you apply most of your power)
- Your SpinScan score which shows your pedaling efficiency (this will be somewhere between 0 and 100)
Understanding your SpinScan pedal stroke analysis results.
A member of VBike's coaching team will take you through the test and beside-the-bike shots of your foot position. Afterwards, your SpinScan coach will explain the results and a full report will be automatically emailed to you.
